Good Morning 🙂
Yesterday, during my normal morning edging into lunchtime dilemma, I was trying to decide whether to go for a run or not. I was scheduled to run, but I ran Tuesday and Wednesday and had quite tight feeling calves and hamstrings. I was in two minds and they were arguing. On the one hand, more practice and training before my Colour Run on Saturday would be good, but on the other hand I don’t want to a) tighten up my legs so much that they hurt on Saturday and b) have a terrible run and be off put and (even more) apprehensive before Saturday. I argued with my self for some time, but eventually decided not to run as I had to do PT in the evening and I wanted to make sure my legs were ok. So I decided to go for a walk instead, a brisk one to stretch my legs without killing them.

I walked out of work and turned down my normal running route, and then I spotted another footpath that I had not explored and decided to go on a magical mystery tour. It was quite a nice walk, I discovered that the area where I work has more footpaths than I originally thought.
I also discovered the Important fact that I do actually run faster than I walk! I walked for 31 mins continually and covered 2.72 km which is 1 km less than my c25k runs of the same time. I know this should be obvious from my c25k stats, but I had a nagging doubt in my mind that a continuous brisk walk would actually be as quick as my running. I am very pleased to say that this was not the case!

My legs felt stretched out and better after walking and I am still looking forward to running on Saturday, so that is a plus 🙂
As I might have mentioned the colour run (see challenge 1) is this Saturday, I want to attempt to run the whole thing, but this is quite a big ask for my legs! The run is in aid of Stand Up To Cancer… I am adding a link to my just giving page, just in case anyone feels the need to donate something 🙂
