I always seem to walk out with less aches and pains and feeling more aligned than when I walked in!
And…on top of that it really works your core and strength a lot more than you expect it too! Especially when the instructor decides to add in the use of these small squishy balls…they are about the size of a football but squishier and you have to hold them either between you legs or feet or have it behind you and hold it where while doing whatever Pilates move you happen to be doing…it really destabilises you and therefore challenges your core a lot more, or causes you to squeeze you muscles much more.
This is actually one of the exercises we did, you have to hold the ball with your leg while raising it up and down, we raised our opposite arm up at the same time too.
All in all, I like the addition of the squishy balls…it certainly gives the whole work out a new dimension…and it allowed me to do some things that were designated “super advanced”…it is not often I get to do that! The most tricky thing we did, was a hip bridge, with your feet on this small squishy ball and your arms over you head! That really was a challenge 🙂 a good one though!

PS: I am setting my self a challenge for the coming week…I am going to attempt to balance my workouts throughout the week so I don’t end up doing 2 things per day at the beginning of the week and struggle at the end…we will just have to see how I manage it!
