Good morning π
I forced myself to go for a run last night. It was Thursday and as you know Thursdays are tricky, it was cold (apparently it was 5ΒΊC but it felt much colder…), and my day at work had been annoying. So I had to force myself to run.
I promised myself that I would feel better after running…and I did, colder but better! π
After borrowing my husbands head torch for my last fun in the dark I invested in my own, It is not the most fancy one in the world, some of these things are incredible…and expensive, mine was not. It is ordinary and works well enough to allow my to avoid hedges, which is exactly the point π
There it is, my new head torch. I think it looks like it has spider eyes, but it works and that is all that matters π
Anyway, the run…
I set off in thermal running legs and top and high visibility coat and hat with head torch, I was determined that I wasn’t going to blend in or be cold (I only actually managed one of those…I really was cold). I went further than last time I ran which pleased me, I managed to go twice around the park with two little extension detours which took it up to 4km. It took me longer too, I mean, it would take me longer, I went further, but my pace was down on last time. This I think was mainly because no amount of cajoling or threats could make my legs move faster…they felt like lead…or possibly cadmium…which is still a heavy metal but lighter than lead. So I ended up having more walk breaks than last time, strangely I found that the middle was better, I was starting to run for longer again towards the end. You can see, my 4th km was inexplicably faster than my 2nd and 3rd ones.
The positives that came from this run were:
– Despite my legs feeling like cadmium I managed to go further before I needed to stop, which pleased me.
– I am feeling fitter when I run, my legs may ache, but I don’t have to stop because I am out of breath. Don’t get me wrong, I am still breathing harder than walking for example but I am definitely improving.
– Β I was out there, I went for longer and further than I thought even though it was cold and I didn’t feel like it…and it made me feel better!
I completed an other mission for the zombies run app, I attempted to gather supplies for the able township, but was lead into a trap…at which point my app inexplicably stopped working…but I can only assume I survived π
I feel this post has got away from me a little…so I am going to stop now with the point that it was a good run π
Day 202 Complete π
It was cold. Your legs felt like cadmium (whatever that is). And yet you still ran.
That makes you a winner and a warrior. Congratulate yourself, Sam. I am definitely cheering for you!

I decided they weren’t quite as heavy as lead so cadmium it was (my inner materials engineer was showing!)
