Good morning ๐
This weekend ended up being pretty productive, both from a work out from a work out front and a study front. I managed to get another 4 lessons done towards my anatomy and physiology course. I am really looking forward to getting this qualification ๐
(Day 232) Saturday
The plan was to run again on Saturday.
This plan failed in the face of hail and wind and suchlike…
I know, I need to harden up my attitude to training and run in the wet, but there is wet and (as I mentioned previously) too wet! I am working on it I promise!
Just as I was attempting to make a new plan, the postman arrived…
No, I have not developed an obsession with Jillian Michaels…they were on a bundle deal thingie on amazon…
Do I believe I will lose 5lbs a week and have a 6 pack and perfect figure in 6 weeks…
No…
Do I think that they are going to be hard circuit ย workouts based on simple effective (and hard) moves working on the principle that you can’t get good results unless you work hard for it?
Yes.
And I was right. I tried the Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism and it was hard work! It was doable…but not easy by a long shot! You are definitely aware that you have worked at the end of this…
there were burpees in it! burpees! doing them at home in any capacity counts as voluntary.
I did voluntary burpees!!
All in all I think these are going to be a pretty good addition, I like the 30 day shred…but it is short and I sometimes want something longer and more challenging…
Now…the ideal plan would be to get up and do one of these dvds in the morning before work as an addition to the other things I do in the evening…
If I could only get myself out of bed!! How do morning people do it??
Really any suggestions would be helpful!!
Day 233: Sunday
Woohoo ย Pilates ๐ and playing out with my friend Jen ๐

Incidentally, I have a very wide definition of “playing out” It basically involves any activity I do that is not in the house and is not work and generally is with at least one other person.
<— this is Jen climbing…in the olden days when we both used to go climbing and I was lighter and fit…
Anyway, we pilatesed our hearts out in an excellent class and I managed to do all of the advanced moves which pleased me ๐
I really do enjoy my pilates class…even though Sarah the Instructor has recently changed the format to make it more challenging. It is definitely a contributor to my new found core strength!
After climbing and a small debate with the gym manager about whether Jen had done her induction (she had) we headed into the gym to do even more work out type stuff…
We started with a warm up which I only mention because Jen made me use the treadmill… she is mean like that and took the x-trainer and left me to face my treadmill fears again! I even managed to run on it this time…for about 3 mins before I got all panicky and had to slow it down to a walk…

Following the warm up we attacked the freeweights…
well attacked is a bit strong, what we did was reorganise the benches and use them to do the following:
1 armed row (as they only have dumbbells and one bar on the bench press) 3 x 5 20 kg 2 x 5 18 kg per arm.
Bench Press 2 x 5 35kg, 1 x 5 32.5kg, 2 x 5 30kg
3 x 10 Squats with a core bag (20 kg)
3 x 10 deadlifts with a core bag (20kg)
2 x 10 vipr thread the needle
2x 10 vipr lunges + shoulder swing thingy
5 per side T press up
5 dive bomber press ups
3 x 20s (per side) core press.
I even managed to persuade Jen to Bench press with the bar, although she looked slightly dubious to start with ๐ and made her do T press ups…which was slightly revenge for making me go on the treadmill…but not really as I did them too ๐
All in all it made for an excellent weekend of working out…and the majority of the time that was not working out was spent, watching olympic snowboard slopestyle and / or studying ๐
Including seeing Jenny Jones win Bronze for Great Britain in the Ladies Slopestyle ๐ woohoo!!

Days 232 and 233 Complete ๐
Wish I could help you with suggestions on how to get a workout in early in the morning. I’m NOT a morning person. In fact, I’m shocked that I’m keeping to Eastern Time Zone hours (my company is based in New York City) while here in Vegas, meaning, I start work at 6am and finish at 2pm. The upside is I get a lot of day still left after I finish working. The downside is I’m up at 5:45. The upside is I get to work in my pajamas. ๐

eeek! 6am is a very hard time to start work!!
mind you…working in pyjamas is handy! If you have to be up at that time at least you don’t have to be up and dressed and put together by 6am!
I think I just need to get up and do it..and I want to do it at every time apart from the bit when I am in bed in a morning…it only ever seems to work when I have to meet someone and I have no option!

I hear you on that. Kudos to you for ever getting those early am workouts in. My brain doesn’t function fully until 8am, I think. ๐ Shhh…don’t tell the bosses in NYC. ๐

hahaha your secret is safe with me (and the internet!)
My brain doesn’t function at that time either…which is why I have to get Matt to demonstrate things in PT so often…explanations just don’t cut it!
