Day 299: Birthday Dancing…and Dancing, and Dancing and Cheesecake

Yesterday was my Birthday πŸ˜€

I guess there is a chance that the title gave that away… and I may have mentioned it in yesterdays post...I like birthdays…so there :-p
(I also reserve the right to act like a child πŸ˜‰ )

mini oreo cheesecakes πŸ˜€ 68 of them…which is probably too many for one sitting!
As it was my birthday, baking happened…I made 68 mini oreo cheesecakes as invented by Martha StewartΒ

You will be pleased to know that of the 68 I managed to eat 2… and give away about 55…so I haven’t undone all the good work this year has been about :-p

however, they are awesome so you should all make them…but give a lot of them away!

Other than baking and avoiding eating all the cheesecake which was hard, I had a birthday full of mediocrity at work and awesomeness at dancing and walking around during my lunchbreak!

Firstly my walk, it was not a route march as it was my birthday (in case I hadn’t mentioned it) and I wanted to have a wander and stop and look about!
IMG_3615[1]and this is what I found πŸ˜€

A small copse that I haven’t explored recently, that was full of bluebells!

the yellow phase of spring is giving way now to the pink and purple phase πŸ™‚

It was a nice walk, there was sunshine and flowers and not too much route marching, which made a nice change πŸ™‚ I ended up going about 2.5km, but I am not 100%sure and my phone gps lost me when I was in the trees and claims I was stopped…I wasn’t stopped :-p

Pink and purple bluebell walk over, it was time to (after working of course) head out to dance practice, armed with cheesecakes, which I force fed people so they would be too full to dance making me look better…

Ok…I am not really that mean, but they did get polished off pretty quickly.

Not 68 of them…some went to work…

Anyway…dancing…

It was an awesome evening of dancing!

so much dancing! The most dancing I have ever don in one practice!

well to be completely accurate about it (which is important you know) the most dancing I have done in one practice since I started counting the dances I do at practice…which is quite a while now…and to be honest, before i started counting I probably did less due to being less fit..

We kicked off practice with the final rehearsal for the story we are doing on saturday (the first dance out of the season πŸ™‚ ) it is the kings men story, and I am going to be in every dance.

Which will be a good indicator of whether I am on my way to being “Fit Enough to Dance in a mask”

It will also be an interesting experiment into whether I will die doing 6 dances in a row…probably not but just watch out for lack of posts next week…

spinny closeyes I know I regularly do 6 dances at practice…it is quite a different thing you know from doing it full kit with mask…

it is the mask that makes all the difference!

I am sure it will be fine, It is always slightly nerve-wracking doing the first dance out in a while!

we went through the story in real time (without pauses for faffing about) and therefore got the whole thing done and still left time for a plethora of other dances…

all in all I danced:

Our Henry (x2)
Star of the County Down
Maiden Castle
Witch Hunt
Standing Stones
Broomstick
Raggle Taggle Gypsy (x3 :-S )
Triskele
King of the Fairies
Parma Ham
Foul Mouth Cat
Spank the Monkey
Summerland
Fanny Frail

which is 17 dances!! 17! which beat my previous record by 3 dances πŸ˜€

Woohoo! new record and lots of fun all on my Birthday!

And with that day 299 complete πŸ™‚

  1. First off, faffing about may be my favourite phrase ever. I may have to adopt it and not worry that everyone in my life will dismiss me as a wanna-be anglophile. πŸ™‚

Second: King of the Fairies just made my life. πŸ™‚

Congrats on another PB on the day of your birth! πŸ™‚

faffing about is an amazing phrase…I didn’t actually know it was a Britishism…but come to think of it I am not surprised!
I think you should use it…help spread it around the world…

King of the Fairies is a great dance…and it does have a comedy name, we might have talked about changing it…but we have forgotten about it if we did πŸ™‚

      1. Is there an actual King of the Fairies in the dance itself? If so, please tell me he has fabulous rainbow coloured ribbons attached to his costume. And please tell me he flits about in all his glory. Go girl! Er..King! πŸ™‚

God how I’d love to be one of his minions!

      2. hahaha no πŸ™‚

I am not actually sure why it is called that πŸ™‚

I really want to make a multi coloured rainbow kit now to go with my orange one πŸ™‚

  2. Wow! What a lot you crammed in to your day and another Paddington Bear to boot πŸ™‚
Those oreo cheesecakes look amazing, I may have to try making them. I have a thing for making variations on malteser brownies at the moment. I made them using mini creme eggs instead of maltesers last week – oh, they are awesome, even if I do say so myself.

In response to Nancy, I love the phrase “faffing about” too. I use it a lot!

A belated happy birthday again x
