Day 321: more indications that I may be a panda…

Remember when I said Thursdays were Tricky and even trickier  and then they suddenly got not tricky any more.

Well they are tricky again…

In fact it is a more entrenched theme than my dislike of Tuesdays!

And there is no appropriate cat for a tricky Thursday!

I am glad I am not alone in this!

Some judicious googling has led me to remember that Arthur Dent couldn’t do Thursdays either…this makes me happy.

And a gratuitous Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy reference is always good!!

So aside from accidentally falling asleep before tea and not being able to go for a walk in my lunch break due to torrential rain what did I do with my tricky Thursday?

Well…I not squats, as it was squat challenge rest day! woohoo!

I did yoga.

Not in pyjamas either!

But I didn’t actually manage to get to a class…I did resort to yoga apps again…

Yoga (thankfully there is more instruction than just this.)
I started with my Yoga for Runners app.

Actually no…I started with some dancing and squat kicks and suchlike just for fun…

But after that I started with my Yoga for Runners app. From which I did the shorter Sun Salutation as a warm up followed by the yoga for strength sequence.

Dupring these, I learned (relearned? remembered?) something about yoga that I really should keep in mind more often.

It is made up from lots of moves that look easy and natural when they are demonstrated by people who are really good at yoga…

panda yoga
reasonably accurate depiction of yoga as practiced by me…

which is why, I feel I have somewhat more in common with a small tubby panda when I am practicing yoga, than I do with any human…

Once I had completed these, I switched apps to The Daily Yoga and did their Yoga for the Back sequence.

I don’t particularly have problems with my back, but as I sit down all day in a lumbar damaging office chair, I decided a bit of back attention would not be a bad thing 🙂

I know I have said this before, but I think i might benefit from going to an actually yoga class, and possibly doing it more regularly than once in a blue Thursday when I remember…

I’ll keep you posted as to whether I ever do!

Day 321 Complete 😀

PS Squat Challenge Day 8 – Rest day woohoo!

  1. I love the panda yoga! 😀
I’m glad you have a rest day from squats after the hundreds that you have already done 🙂
We had a heavy downpour after school yesterday and my poor boy had to walk in it!

    1. The panda yoga is awesome! I have no idea why I googles polar bear yoga or why a panda came up but I am glad 😀
It was soggy all say here yesterday 😦

  2. yesterday was my BEST. DAY. EVER. with no squats to do. 🙂

I don’t know which yoga for runners app you use, but I use this youtube video which a (real :-)) runner recommended at some point last year. It’s 25 minutes long, and she’s not annoying at all (unlike some yoga instructors…)

Let me know what you think.

      1. yes, the link (and full video, actually) will be waiting for you when you get to your laptop.

In the meantime, I can email you the link the old fashioned way. Cheers.

      1. oh not at all for serious yoga junkies, Linda. I am a yoga kindergarten’er and I could actually do 90% of what she told me to do in decent form. Give it a go! (and she’s not annoying, and that’s half the battle for me)

      2. She sounds Dutch – I like the Dutch. I’ll give it a go and let you know how it goes! I scooted today as well – such a buzz 🙂 And fun to have women look at me in fear and confusion instead of snooty superiority 🙂
