Day 327: I love Wednesdays!

There has been a lot of talk on this blog about how much I dislike Tuesdays, and how Thursdays are hard.

I thought it was about time to tell you all how much I love Wednesdays!

ok...I don't dance like this...and Benedict Cumberbatch is rarely there
ok…I don’t dance like this…and Benedict Cumberbatch is rarely there

It doesn’t matter how bad work is, on a Wednesday because in the evening, there is Dancing!

Ok…not fancy in a tuxedo dancing with Sherlock…

but awesome morris dancing, which as we know…I love doing πŸ˜€

DancingΒ is the reason I love Wednesdays!

and yesterday was no exception!

My work day was dull bordering on annoying, but the evening was greatly improved, by first scaffolding clambering and second dancing πŸ˜€

It was practice, we were getting ready for Brighton Day of dance which is happening on Saturday, and which I (sadly) won’t be attending! I don’t like it at all when I am not going to things…but occasionally I have to do other things…

I did still manage to get a fair bit of dancing in mind you πŸ™‚
Our Henry
King of the Fairies
Foulmouth cat
Standing Stones
Maiden Castle
Raggle Taggle Gypsy
Star of the County Down
Broomstick
Fanny Frail

it was lots of fun…we were having a noisy practice in the hopes of getting people used to shouting and making noise on dance outs…which did mean that I also spent the evening screaming my head off πŸ˜€

(good screaming…not cross screaming!)

And then there were squats.

Of course there were squats, what day would be complete without squats!

this is pure craziness!
this is pure craziness!

Remember last week, when I said I wasn’t going to leave my squats until after I cam home from dancing…

well, I didn’t learn from my mistakes and I had to squat at 10:45 pm after dancing, again!

Day 14 squat challenge:
110 Standard squats
50 plie squats
50 plie squats on toes…

plie squats on toes…what? that is craziness…

to quote Nancy “Plie squat Β on toes suck ass!”

It is true too!

  1. And this morning featured wide, regular and “close” squats. Dude, THAT was hard. I thought I was going to topple over squatting with my feet touching. GAH! When does it get easier??

    1. Haha I did think I was going to fall over doing the pliΓ© on toes, close is going to be even worse!! I think it is getting easier though…I did all of the sets in one hit each yesterday even the 110! Which I couldn’t have done at the start!

  2. You have too much enthusiasm, it’s spreading! Even though the squat thing sounds hideous, every time I read your blog I think “hmm, maybe I should try a squat challenge…”

      1. I might try a milder one for my June challenge…
Yep, I definitely have the bug now! πŸ˜€

      2. figure out how many squats you can do to start with, and find one that will challenge you, but not kill you πŸ˜€

I am really glad you have got the bug, the more you do the worse it gets you know πŸ™‚

        I am seriously considering turning my 365 project into a 730 project…

      3. I have been neglecting my squats, this definitely could be a good way to get back into it! My PT is obsessed with them, he makes me do loads in my sessions, but I’ve had to drop those to monthly ones.
Do it!! I think even if you didn’t make it a 730 project you’d carry on exercising every day anyway, but it’s nice to make it formal! πŸ™‚

      4. I quite like the idea of formalising it into a 720, the same as the 365 but longer, that gives me scope to continue making things up,
I am also considering doing multiple monthly challenges.

Or maybe, even just working out 6 days a week and having a rest day…like a normal person.

but I really like *having* to do something every day!

        ok…that was not a decisive answer…sorry

      5. That’s quite fun, I’m liking the monthly challenges personally!
Rest day? This does not compute!! Maybe you could still do that but do something non-strenuous on your “rest” day like Tai Chi or something for flexibility… just a thought!

      6. yeah, I am not 100% sure I could have a complete rest day…

I might just have a “walking only” day or some such thing πŸ™‚

the only thing I do know…is I am not going to stop πŸ˜€

      7. And that’s the most important thing! I’m seriously considering making yoga day a regular one for me, which would permanently put my workout days up from 5 to 6.
You could have a tabata and squats day, that sounds low-impact to me!! πŸ˜‰

        Like

      8. yeah, a tabata squat combo rest day πŸ˜‰

        sounds perfect!

I love the idea of yoga, I have liked the bits I have done at home, but I am not brave enough to go to a class…

      9. Very restful!!

If I can do it, you definitely can! I do a DVD at home, I’ve been to classes but the ones at my gym are all at silly times like 11am on a Tuesday. There are a lot of good DVDs out there. I use the For Dummies series a lot, but I think I need to upgrade some of them, I seem to have become less of a dummy than I was! πŸ˜€

      10. Dammit I literally just got back from tescos where I was going to look for a yoga DVD and somehow managed to forget! I will have to trawl amazon!
