I never ever learn!
I say…”oh next week I will not wait until after dancing to do my squats”
I say “I will be organised and do them in the morning, or at lunchtime”
I say all sorts of things…

And yet I still end up doing squats at 11pm Β after dancing for 2 hours!
but before that lets talk about dancing π
It was (in theory) a regular practice, we even have a dance free weekend this weekend π¦ , so have no particular event to practice for. However, for reason of holiday and randomness we were very short on people!
This meant I got to dance a lot, which was awesome, it also meant that we got to teach a lot of the dances to the newer members of the side, which was a good thing to do π It is nice to be able to do that with no pressure once in a while π
So it meant that all the dances (more or less) were done with a walk through first. Those dance were:
Maiden Castle
Triskele (x2)
Spank the Monkey (x2)
Raggle Taggle Gypsy
Our Henry (x2)
Standing Stones
Witch Hunt
Broomstick
Fanny Frail
All in all it was an excellent practice π and we were interviewed by a man from a paper π so fame and fortune awaits!
So that was the fun bit!
Next came the stupid bit!
the bit where I had to do:
150 squats
150 plie squats
yes…that’s right, 300 squats…
It hurt!
A lot!
But I did it, day 21 of the bombshell bottom challenge is out of the way!

Did you look at the recommended form for plie squats? it’s feet at just shoulder/hip distance apart, feet turned out at an unnatural angle, and then keep your back as perfectly straight as you lower yourself into squat. Clearly this means not getting anywhere nearly as low as a traditional squat. But Christ does it ever hurt despite the more shallow depth. GAH! How many more days to go???

yes, that is how I have been doing them π with my feet so far out that they are almost in a straight line and I topple over if I get it wrong…
you definitely can’t go as low but I think I have noticed an improvement in them over the weeks π
But yes they all hurt, especially yesterday…everything hurt yesterday!!
it is ok…we are over half way there π

it has a convoluted story attached but really is just an excuse to say Spank the Monkey on public π

I am trying to shoehorn as many buffy references in as I can now I have discovered the wealth of buffy gifs the internet has to offer! π

There are lots and lots of Buffy gifs around π I don’t watch Dr Who (sorry, but I don’t actually have a TV license, I just watch DVDs!) There are some pretty good Big Bang Theory ones around too. Gif hunting is a little bit of an addictive pastime though…

I like to watch one or two things right through which is why I like DVDs, at the moment it’s The White Queen and True Blood π

I have Game of Thrones lined up for when I finish True Blood (which might take a while!) I’ve heard really good things about it!

Congrats on the 300 squats! That is an accomplishment on its own! Now I must mention the names of the dances were very neat but I must say spank the monkey…that made me chuckle π
