Day 365 (and 366…technically): On the First Day I Danced…

and on the last day I danced πŸ˜€

and danced and danced!

I decided I would do a new thing (new thing for June number 6) and actually video these days and tell you what was going on rather than trying to remember it afterwards πŸ˜€

I will do a round up of the year and a what comes next post later, but for now here is a record of days 365 and 366 (I decided to do both as 366 was back at the Weald and Downland museum, same place as day 2!)

please excuse the shaky camership and the times when I ran out of things to say…

We performed the Green Man story both days over the weekend, and I danced all of the story dances on both occasions πŸ˜€

that is 5 dances, in a row with minimal breaks πŸ˜€

In addition to that, I danced 4 or soΒ dances in the other 2 sets on both days…bringing the total for the weekend up to about 26 dances πŸ˜€

and last week (as I mentioned…I did 27 dances and a procession over the weekend)

contrast that to this time last year when I did 14 dances over the course of the weekend!! πŸ˜€

here is some proof in the form of Thor’s Hammer:

It is a strange feeling to have finished, it is a little anti climactic. I find myself, although allowed to take a complete rest day, unwilling to and IO find that I don’t want to go for a day with no activity, it feels like a part of me now πŸ˜€

One thing I do know is the project was a success…

I can now declare myself….Fit Enough to Dance in a Mask!!

and although you have seen these before, I thought it was appropriate to add them to this post too…

Then..
Then..
Now :-D

  1. You made it, congratulations!! There aren’t enough words to describe how awesome your achievements over the last year have been – I’ll just say that you really are an inspiration πŸ™‚ (I’ll have to watch the long video when I get home as I don’t have sound here!)

    1. πŸ˜€ thank you so much!!

It is an odd video…I am not good at narrating and I sound wierd! (but everyone thinks that about their own voice!)

I need to reflect on the year a bit as the changes have happened slowly so in some ways I feel no different, but I know that in many ways I am πŸ˜€

      1. I’m sure you don’t (I hate the sound of my voice though!!)

I’m looking forward to seeing your follow-up post and what comes next – and hoping that you will carry on blogging!

  2. Okay, first……………… YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!
    Second…………………. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, onto the important stuff (in no particular order):
    1. Your voice is awesome! You sound like a fancy, schmancy British actress. Not sure which one, but one of them. πŸ™‚ Possibly Emma Thompson, who I adore!
    2. You look amazing! What a difference a year makes!
    3. I can tell how much you LOVE dancing. I’m so glad you found your passion.
    4. Thor’s Hammer is quite the vigorous activity, isn’t it? Wow, what a workout!
    5. Thank you for helping me figure out the proper pronunciation of Mythago. I had the emphasis on the first syllable. And also lack the British accent. πŸ™‚
    6. You are a total bad ass.
    7. I can so relate to that anticlimactic feeling. I had it too. Day 365/366 was a bittersweet moment for me in that regard.
    8. I also love that although you’ve earned a day of rest, that you didn’t feel compelled to take it. Like I said in my year end wrap up report, I no longer do this because I set a goal to do it; it’s just part of my lifestyle now. So, so, so happy you’re there too. I had no doubt.
    9. I love that you have tea and cake. And also that the one guy kept referring to that as just being civilized. He’s my kind of guy!
    10. You rocked the shit out of your 365 challenge!

    xoxo nancy

    1. hahahaha! I never thought of myself as sounding fancy schmancy πŸ˜€ I think I sound posher than I should and younger than I am πŸ™‚

That is Andy, he is our squire and attempts to keep us on the straight and narrow, which is a very hard task!! Micelham was great as we go tea and cake vouchers (I had coffee though I have to admit)

I can’t believe how much difference a year makes πŸ˜€ I am even at the stage when I can see the difference and not just the distance left to go!!

Thor’s Hammer is pretty vigorous…a lot of hard sticking πŸ˜€ it is an awesome dance to do πŸ˜€

πŸ˜€ I am so glad it is obvious that I love dancing…It is so much fun and this year was worth every thing to allow me to become a dancer worth having in the side πŸ˜€

      1. πŸ˜€ thank you πŸ˜€

I feel really strange today, like everything is completely different and also still the same…

I keep wanting to go up to people and day…do you know what I just did??

I don’t of course because that would be weird!

      2. Ha! So, while I didn’t proactively spit it out to everyone I met, I didn’t hesitate to share if the door was opened with an appropriate segue! πŸ™‚
        Brag on, sister!

      3. I did a bit (a lot) on saturday, but then I was with Mythago and they are like second family who all knew what I was doing anyway! and I was forcing them to be on video for it!

I do mention it if there is a sensible opening…but people hardly talk at my work!

I am resisting the temptation to stand up and twirl around going 365 days of exercise woohoo…

(if I do that…I promise to video it!)

  3. Reblogged this on Real Fitness Sussex and commented:

As an introduction to the Real Fitness blog I thought I would reblog this post from my other blog, the one that tells the story of my lifestyle change.
This is the post from the end of my 365 days of exercise and lets you in on a little bit of my back story.
If I can do this, anyone can πŸ™‚
