one of my secret goals this year is to exercise in the mornings more than once a week…
It is secret because I am not very good at mornings and every time I set this as a goal I fail! I discovered last year that the reason for this is that I am a panda…
However, despite my panda tendencies, I managed to get up in the morning at 5:55 am and do exercise!
I chose a yoga for runners video from you tube because my legs were exceptionally tight and having caught myself giving this advice to someone else, I thought I should have a go at listening to myself for once!
I searched you tube for 10 whole seconds and came up with this:

I chose it for 2 reasons…
1) it was from runners world who I have heard of…
b) it had the word “beginners” on it, this seemed very important!
I learned some things during the next half hour:
- My legs were much tighter than even I appreciated!
- Yoga is hard (I knew this but had forgotten) and the word beginners is misleading!
- Doing yoga in a house with three kittens in it is difficult and funny and probably not conducive to the right yoga frame of mind. There is nothing like having a kitten squeeze between your feet in childs pose to put you off! Actually there is…it is having a kitten pounce on your fingers and / or necklace in downward dog!

Despite this distraction, I completed the 35 mins of yoga.
Well when I say completed, I did my best, it was tricky and I nearly fell over several times, but I got to the end of the video π
And I have to say that my legs felt better afterwards…unevan due to getting better at the poses on the second side but better π
I yet again admit that yoga is probably beneficial and I should incorporate it into my routine more often…
Happy that I had actually exercised before work I headed out in torrential rain wondering if I would actually get any outdoor exercise done today…
Luckily for me it cleared up by lunchtime and I was able to get my walk in π It was slightly slower than normal due to my wearing my very heavy boots and wanting to at least attempt to keep the newly gained flexibility in my legs for longer than 4 hours!

Charlie always joins me once I take out the yoga mat. I am not sure I can do yoga without feline support anymore!

Haha! I am sure i will get used to it π
I am glad it is not just me that this happens to!
I think they were taking it in turns to “help” i have no idea what will happen if they coordinate their efforts!!

Hopefully they won’t coordinate. Global domination would be the next logical step.

My sister’s wee dog, Toby was pouncing all over me when I was demonstrating hip bridges for my niece last week. π

it is funny but definitely distracting!
All three climbed on me when I laid down to do bridges!
It was the foot licking that was the weirdest mind you!

Glad you followed your own advice, not sure I will. Am as flexible as a plank of wood so would make life tricky, my cat though would sleep through the whole thing!

I thought I’d give it a go…
I can’t promise it will be a regular thing…
my kittens do not sleep through anything!!

I know the pain of trying to exercise with lovely kitties around. My cat takes it as a personal goal to help me hold my plank longer by trying to lay down under me! Good luck on exercising in the morning!!
