Reboot days 71-75: It’s been one week…

It’s been one week since I wrote to you…

Yes it’s 90s song reference time again!! No, I can’t fit any more words into the lyrics of the song…because it is a Barenaked Ladies song and has too many words for normal people so here is the video…watch it then I’ll tell you all about this week…

I like that song 😀

Anyway…

Day 71: Monday = lunchtime runday!

It was Monday lunchtime, it looked like it was a reasonable temperature so I got changed and went out for a run! It turned out to be warmer than I anticipated and the air felt like breathing warm water, I can only assume it was still air mind you as I didn’t drown…

Still I went and I ran and I improved a little on my keeping going for all of my designated run intervals 🙂

Day 72: Tuesday training day

Nope not like the movie…

If you haven’t seen it look it up and you’ll see why I wouldn’t want it to be like the movie…

I mean, of course it was my personal training session in the morning. It was a good one too… it was quite cardio and condition-y which is necessary for the running so I am not complaining…not really…

Well I might be a little, but I am still doing the things 😀 This weeks things were good things anyway, they were TRX single arm rows, kettlebell swings, kettlebell snatches and rowing sprints 😀 I do not hate doing these things!

Day 73: A Wednesday…

Ok…that wasn’t an inventive day introduction…but it was a Wednesday so it is at least accurate!

Wednesday started as it often does at the gym, I remembered to take a list of stuff to do…and by list I mean program written by the awesome Kortney Olsen and her team and we did that. It involved all sorts of good things like Deadlifts and Overhead presses and leg presses with duck feet (not actual ducks feet…honest) and Rows…

I followed this up with a core selection circuit and my mobility exercises 🙂

Later that day there was dancing 🙂 so much dancing…

So much dancing in fact that I forgot to take any pictures… but you know what a mythago practice looks like by now 🙂

Day 74: Thursday rest and yoga

It was a Thursday… and as we know Thursday is always tricky… so tricky in fact that I ended up yogaing for stress and anxiety late at night again…

It was good for me!

Day 75: Friday…the day I did hip thrusts again!

After just discovering hip thrusts for the first time last week, they cropped up again in my programme… which I remembered to take to the gym…again!! Woohoo!!

We did hip thrusts and squats and some other things which temporarily slip my mind… they were awesome though…

And that was the week last week…

Reports of the weekend will follow shortly 😁😁

  1. Bare Naked Ladies! I had forgotten about them, I’m going to be hitting YouTube later to remind myself of their awesomeness, so thank you! You have done very well indeed this week, a mere mortal such as myself can only gasp in admiration! Two things – first thing – I have been following your blog for awhile now and also seen your very self in real life! You are not only losing weight but also getting younger every week. This is most impressive. Thing two – a friend of mine is thinking about getting a rowing machine as he doesn’t like running in the rain. He is getting on a bit, so I can understand. Would it be a good substitute for running, do you think? He isn’t training for anything, just general fitness.

    1. yeay! Never forget the Bare Naked Ladies… that song pops into my head anytime anyone mentions “one week” for any reason 😀
Thank you! I have recently had a terrifying body composition analysis which made me quite miserable and gave me a kick up the bum…so it is nice to hear that the renewed work is paying off 😀 as for getting younger I think headbands and sunglasses hide a multitude of sins…but I also think age is all about attitude really 😀

For your friend…yes, rowing would be a brilliant substitute for running for general fitness, it is a good all over body cardio workout. I actually think it is better than running for general fitness because it uses arms as well as legs…

      1. I definitely think you look more youthful – perhaps it is your naughty nature and selection of fabulous hats! Either way, it’s all going well, I would say.
Oh good, I’m glad you said that – I quite fancy a go on one! I shall pass on your excellent advice 🙂

      2. excellent thank you 🙂 I never mind looking more youthful… it keeps people guessing 😀
It is almost certainly to do with the hats 😀

Rowing machines are quite fun for indoor cardio 🙂 and I have never fallen off one despite once having to get on (and off) one with a giant elastic band around my knees!

      3. The hats have it! Hats of eternal youth…
I have mangled ankles from years of hockey injuries in my youth, so running has always been a bit pants for me. I shall be visiting my friend often to play on his rowing machine (not a euphemism!)
Now – you must tell me about this giant elastic band. Were you in a giant catapult?!

      4. I like that…hats of eternal youth are definitely a thing!
hehehehe…It might not have been a euphemism originally…but it might become one 😀
I wish I was in a giant catapult… it would have been quite exciting and involved flying…
It was when I had my last Personal Trainer (Matt 1) he wanted to do exercises that would get my bum working, so he made me put an elastic band around my knees and do something…then get on a rowing machine…row with the elastic band in place, then get off the machine again and do something else, elastic band still in place!! To this day I have no idea how I didn’t fall over!!
I wrote a post about it, I’ll see if I can find it!!

      5. From now on, ‘playing on the rowing machine’ will mean only one thing to me!
My bum would certainly to something if I did all that wearing a giant elastic band, but I’m not sure a personal trainer would be very impressed by it…
