Well.. you may have got the impression that I haven’t been *that* dedicated so far this year, well…this is in some ways true and in other ways not…
I haven’t spent as much time exercising as I intended but I have by no means don nothing. I haven’t spent as much time writing on this blog as I intended but I have been keeping up with 2 others (yeah I know that’s no excuse) so not quite as good as I thought…but not terrible.
I am not going to apologise because that puts me in far to negative a mindset and to be honest a lot of the difference between what I intended and what I did is down to negative mindset… so I am just going to tell you what I have been doing and what I am going to do. After all, you know me there is no reason to stop committing to things just because the last thing didn’t go according to plan!!
I have been going to the gym more and have rediscovered my love of lifting heavy weights 😊😊
I have been planning and setting goals on paper a lot…it has made me focus on the things I really need to get done…and realise that I sometimes have unrealistic expectations!
Also my bummer journal is all pretty which makes me happy…
And the very last thing I have done is gone back to absolute basics when it comes to getting movement into my day, I have reinstated lunchtime walks and have decided to complete some 30 day challenges which involve simple exercises which I can do throughout the work day…
Yes at work I will be getting up and doing squats and triceps dips and wall sits throughout the day…possibly in the looks but it’s the activity that counts not the location…
This is a cunning ploy to get my brain used to movement rather than chocolate…
Then I have to stop eating chocolate so much but that is a different challenge for a different day…
This is a colourful, cheerful and inspiring post! I love those notebooks (and I love my one too!) and am pleased to see the otters feature regularly, along with a host of your other creative endeavours which are all so brilliant! Excercising the mind and soul is just as important as the body, I reckon. And then we have a picture of you in a hat! I’m pleased you are lifting heavy things, I know you like doing that. Stomp on that negativity with your awesome boots and keep on keeping on, my friend 🙂

I have been far more focussed on creativity this year and I am loving it!
I am trying to find a balance between mind body and soul…but I might just be better stopping worrying and doing the things I like 😁
Otters taken up quite a lot of time…I had minuses they were so demanding to be honest!!
I am definitely negativity stomping! What’s the point of having new rocks otherwise 😁😁

As long as you are happy, everything is good 🙂 You have worked so hard to get your fitness in tip top condition so I’m sure you won’t let it slide, but it is important to find other outlets, too – and you certainly have done that!
Otters can be very time consuming, I am sure. No doubt they keep your brain on its toes. I am so proud of all you have achieved and are achieving – it really is incredible. 2018 is going to be such an awesome year!
Those New Rocks are the business. Perfect for stomping!! 😀

To be honest I have let it slide a bit…but not so far that I can’t get it back 😁
I am definitely doing a lot more unexpected things this year than I ever thought I would this time last year!!
(Thank you for encouraging me 😁)
2018 is going to be awesome for both of us!!

Love this no-apologies; no-excuses update. Good for you!
My 365 challenge fell off the rails from a ‘rules’ perspective during the 8 (turned into 9) days in Jamaica. But on the good news front, I danced like crazy, did some swimming and a bunch of walking. No excuses! I’m still headed in the right direction.

I think, as long as you are moving in the right direction it is all ok. I known I haven’t done as well as I could, especially when it comes to eating but dwelling on what i didn’t do will only make me feel bad and not change things.
New policy only positives and keep moving forward!

I’m very envious of your pretty, bummer journal. I have to award it top marks.
And small 30 day exercise challenges? I’ll look forward to those with pleasure, as long as you promise not to accidentally make me become ensnared by any of them.
As for negativity? Piffle!
You’ve got this! 😙

Yeay 🙂 my journal will be extremely pleased! I am 🙂 I love doing it even though I don’t know if it is making me more organised…
The small 30 day challenges are good things 🙂 I have about 20 apps which are 30 days of squats or press ups or whatever… I like them because I get to put little ticks in little boxes. Today I spent time in the loos doing modified press-ups against the sink and wall sits just hoping no one came in!
I can’t promise 100% you won’t get ensnared by them…
Piffle to negativity indeed!! I have been losing the battle with my brain far too much recently and I am not going to let the negative side win any more!

I somehow read that as setting goats on paper (must have that eye test soon…), and began to worry the otters would have some serious competition.

There is a 50:50 chance that is did say that…I talk about goats more often than you might think…
I have recently seen an illustration of some experimental goat/otter communication so who knows…

I must admit I had not formed an opinion on how often you talk about goats, but that probably helps. The otters I was already certain about.

Well goats enter into conversation approximately one day a week so not as much as otters…

I definitely sense some goat-related episodes on the horizon, and will look out keenly for any other species-related tales.

Well, In the face of apocalypse inter species cooperation is essential!

One of my February goals is to update my bullet journal… and it’s only half a journal, I’ve just been dabbling to see how I like it, but I’m out of pages, so I have a fresh notebook that I can transfer the info to and organize a bit better… we shall see!!

I might change layouts for February to see how it works!
