Well, this heatwave isn’t abating at all is it! I know…how British, talking about the weather, but this is so unusual for the UK that I am telling you about it!
Taking into account the unusual heat, it seemed sensible to go to the gym (a currently unairconditioned industrial unit) in the morning before it got too hot. OK…I actually went in the morning, because it was Tuesday, it was PT and PT has been on a Tuesday morning at 7am since records began (almost…I checked, my first PT session on this blog was in the evening, but shortly after that they became morning things).
Yesterday morning I had PT, it was excellent! I was fully awake which is unusual for a morning and seemed to have both energy and enthusiasm! Which is a good thing because very soon I was doing Deadlift / benchpress supersets… these are hard work even when your trainer doesn’t decide that the last set should be a burnout set… which apparently means do lots of reps at a lower weight until you can’t move your arms / want to kill him 🙂
Honestly I wanted to kill him when the phrase “do as close to 30 reps as possible” came out if his mouth! I did what I was told though…and as close to 30 bench presses as possible turned out to be 21 + 3 half assisted reps!
we also did, facepulls and lat pulldowns and trx presses 🙂 It was all ok though because deadlifts were involved 😀
Look there he is all smiley because I had to do multiple sets and he avoided death 😀
At lunchtime there was the now customary walk, which didn’t seem to progress my quest any further. I met a cat guarding marking a path which is obviously for future questing. I tried to entice him into conversation but he disappeared!
The bit of the day which really was insanity, was…well…Insanity. I did the day’s insanity workout at 10:30pm when I got home from my pottery class and after I have fed some hungary cats.
Firstly, this is far too late to be insanity-ing! Secondly it was too hot in my house to be insanity-ing!! I nearly melted into a puddle! The other slight complication was the small tortoiseshell kitten-cat who decided that running around my legs while I was jumping around would be a good idea! Still, as hot and hazardous as it was, I did Insanity Pure Cardio and I didn’t die!
I look quite cheerful in that after Insanity picture too…which is proof in its self that I am actually a little insane 😀
