Stepping back up…

This year, I have had a general goal of increasing my step average every month…as I had got quite inactive in general at the end of last year, it seemed reasonable to try to increase my general activity / wandering about levels as these definitely play a big part in overall health and fitness…

On top of that I joined the 1 million step challenge where I have to walk 1 million steps between 1st July and 30th September.

It was all going so well…

It is fairly easy to pinpoint the the day of the damage… or at least the first day with the damage…

But since I was give the go ahead from the hospital to walk on it with my full weight, I have been trying to increase my step count daily and increase my distance of continuous walking…

Ok the last two are out of order, the 2km was the weekend and the 1.28km was today at lunchtime, I am still not fast enough to get more than 2km into my lunchbreak, but I am definitely improving! I was much more consistent today and generally faster!

It is amazing really, the first day when I did 0.6km, that was really tiring! This broken bone thing is hard work!!

I am 100k steps behind where I need to be to hit my 1 million step goal. I am not sure if I will be able to make it up as I am still not hitting the 10870 steps per day let alone the amount I would need to do extra to get up back on track…

In my defence…I still have a broken ankle…

I may not get to 1 million…but I will do absolutely as many as I possibly can!

  1. It’s good to see that you back up and walking again 😊

As a serial walker myself it is surprising how many steps you rack up without realising it….I reckon you’ll still do it 👍😁
