Project lockdown fitness: Days 44-49 mostly photos…

I said I wasn’t going to do posts that cover lots of days at the moment, because a) all the days are confusing, and 2) all the days are so full of training that these posts could become extremely long, and fairly repetitive…

so I will break it down into picture collections which cover the different aspects of training I have been doing since last thursday…

Firstly, the heavy stuff, I seem to have made miraculous leaps forward in my upper body strength in the last week, which is good, it has always lagged behind so it is about time it caught up. It hasn’t of course, but it is much better than it was 🙂 I have been carrying on with my Stoltman based training programme, which is good, but I am not getting through all of the things I am supposed to be getting through so I am a little worried that it is not benefiting me as much as it could. I mean I am definitely getting stronger, so it is working, I just think I might be able to fit more in if I had a bit of a reorganise…

So that was heavy lifting, although I did have a bit of a wobble (again) at the end of last week and decided I my legs weren’t progressing or working and that they were not capable of doing things…

Then I did this:

This for those of you who can’t guess…is me trying to simulate yoke carries without a yoke or the space to walk around… I put 100kg on my back and trotted my feet up and down. I think I look like a horse…well my feet do. A sort of little round horse who is trying to do neat marching while carrying stuff! I did this 3 times and it made my legs hurt! it is far harder work than you might think!

So, that was lifting, now for the jumping about.

Also known as the continuation of the 60 days of digging deep with Shaun T. This involved more Insanity, more Asylum and more Max 30… I definitely like Asylum the least but they are all hard work and are going to pay off somehow… I strongly believe I am getting fitter. I must be!!

You would not believe how many press ups I have done recently… modified press ups but still…

So that was that, and as I write this I have just realised why my legs were tired on the trotting legs meltdown day… I had done insanity asylum, but i had also gone for a run… this was probably not my best decision. You’d think I would learn but apparently not, I did a similar thing yesterday when I did Insanity Max 30 and then tried to run after it…

I mean so some running after I had finished insanity, I didn’t have to chase it or anything. To my knowledge, noone has invented a workout video that actually runs away from you…

anyway…the rest of the things I did looked a little like this:
