100kg for reps…

Do you remember the time I knew a girl from mars? I don’t know if you knew that…

No hang on not that, that’s just my brain filling in the start of a sentence with song lyrics. It does that, I can’t stop it.

Do you remember the times I got a 100kg deadlift PB, then got injured / ran a half marathon / got distracted and lost some strength and each time I had to build back up to 100kg?

Finally this year I got past the 100kg mark for my PB

I worked my way up to a PB of 112.5kg during lockdown (:-D) but 100kg was still a huge mental block for me. It seemed such a milestone, and one that I had been working towards repeatedly so often that the fact that I had beaten it didn’t seem to register.

Until Saturday that is…

On Saturday, I deadlifted 100kg for reps!

5 reps, 3 times to be exact ๐Ÿ˜€

Ok, to be really exact, 3 x 5 plus one extra so mark could take a picture to prove it. A picture that I had to convince myself not to hate so I could post it…

Yes, despite being super pleased that I can lift 100kg, I am still fixating on the way I look doing it. Well, I am until I give myself a good talking to and look at the weights I am holding for a while!

So where next for my deadlift?

Next goal 120kg, then the world!!

  1. That is … I donโ€™t want to say amazing or fab or wonderful … not because it isnโ€™t all those things but because it is so much more! I donโ€™t think I can even lift my son these days and heโ€™s only about 55kg. Your deadlifting 2 Adams! OMG thatโ€™s awesome! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ (I know you arenโ€™t lifting over your head but … lifting emoji ๐Ÿ˜Š).
