Project Competition Ready: day 8&9

Saturday, day 8, was double gym day ๐Ÿ˜ I booked an open session at Matts gym, followed by a small group PT session. The idea was Iโ€™d do things that are awkward in the shed gym in my open session followed by whatever is in the group PT which is usually higher reps and more endurance based than Iโ€™d choose on my own.

As it turned out I was the only person booked into the group PT so we did deadlifts ๐Ÿ˜

In my first session I did push presses and landmine presses. A landmine press is a single armed press with internet end of the bar attached to the floorโ€ฆ it isnโ€™t generally that explosive thankfully!!

This was followed by lots of brilliant deadlifts!

It was excellent!!

Lots of excellent lifting!!

In the interests of furthering my mission to move more in general, I also went for a wander along the Wey and Arun canal ๐Ÿ™‚

Pretty good Saturday really ๐Ÿ˜

Sunday, day 9, was a designated recovery day!

I did pottering about, I attacked my legs with the d-d-d-d machine and I did some yoga.

The d-d-d-d machine is more accurately called a massage gun, it looks like a small hammer drill with a ball attachment that goes d-d-d-d as it lifts your muscles lots of times in quick succession! It sounds awful really but it is actually pretty brilliant for helping achy knotted muscles recover!

The d-d-d-d machine!

For yoga, I chose yoga for hips and lower back, sitting at work makes my hips tight and lots of deadlifts mean my lower back has worked a lot recently so this seemed appropriate ๐Ÿ˜

All jn m a pretty good weekend!

Days 8&9 done ๐Ÿ˜
