Project Fit Enough to Dance in a Mask officially ended on 23rd January 2020 6 years and 7 months after it started on 23rd June 2013. I am leaving this page up for posterity, after all…this was the beginning of an era!
Hello…
What is a midsummer 365 project you say?
well…instead of the 365 projects that get started at new year which are often doomed to fail under all the added pressure that comes along with new years resolutions, I decided to start mine int he middle of the year, 365 days running from midsummer to midsummer… less pressure, less expectations less looming doom!
put like that it seems like I put slightly more thought into it than I actually did…what really happened is that at the beginning of June I read an inspiring 365 exercise blog post here:
http://thejackieblog.com/2013/01/02/project-365-round-two/
and I decided I wanted to play too…and it was June and I didn’t want to wait until January to start. then my husband pointed out that all I had to do is remember the day I started as the same date will happen next year (shhh yes I know that is obvious). I wanted the date to be memorable, so I chose midsummer 🙂 And…the point I made above about looming doom is still valid.
Midsummer was 2 days ago, the plan is to do at least 30 mins of exercisey activity every day for the next 365 days. I might be dancing (in fact I definitely will be dancing at some point!), I might be doing circuit training or walking but the activity has to be on purpose…I mean…walking round the shops doesn’t count!
I fully intend to investigate new forms of exercise during this challenge, partly because the more interesting something is, the more likely I am to complete it, and partly because you never know what you like until you try it 😀
The point of this project…well as the name suggests, I want to be fit enough to dance in a mask…I am not on a “lose weight quick” kick or a “be skinny whatever the cost” kick. I am on an I want to be fitter, healthier and able to dance all day wearing a mask without falling over mission.
This mask in fact…
Or maybe this one:
So lets see how I get on shall we 🙂
There is slightly more to it that but it is not a story for here, so If you want to know more about it, I wrote a post recently that tells my story in Haikus, so here it is…Hauki Story
